smack down on the DOD (sort of) 29 November 2004 21:08 Court says the DoD can’t withhold funds from colleges that bar recruiters

PHILADELPHIA — An appeals court on Monday barred the Defense Department from withholding funds from colleges and universities that deny access to military recruiters. The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said a federal law known as the Solomon Amendment infringes on the free speech rights of schools that have limited on-campus recruiting in response to the military’s ban on homosexuals.

WOO HOO! Check out the Army Times to read the rest. I am very glad to hear this. Two good court decisions in one day, first the Supreme Court refuses to hear the case against Massachussettes' legalized same sex marriage law, and now this.

I really want to see the movie Alexander. I will have to treat myself to it. I would consider seeing it with my bf, but he is not very friendly to alternative sexual lifestyles.. meaning he's not an outright bigot, but he is uncomfortable with it but knows better than to show it around me. *sigh* I'm SICK AND TIRED of the idiots trying to argue that Alexander was only heterosexual. Morons. Do some research and educate thyself, I say!

I really can't stand this need by religious zealots to impose their morals upon others, and this is a general statement that I apply to fundamentalist/conservative Muslims, Jews and Christians. So as you can see, I'm not selectively anti-religious.
